Bengaluru: The International Institute of Hotel Management has announced that IIHM Student Nandini Nair, a final-year Food and Beverage specialization student from IIHM Bangalore, has been selected for the prestigious Scot Malt Tour 2025.
The week-long educational initiative immerses students in Scotland’s rich whisky-making traditions and hospitality culture.
Rigorous Selection Process
Selected from over 150 applicants, IIHM Student Nandini Nair went through multiple stages of evaluation, including extensive written rounds on spirits, wines, and the whisky industry, followed by a personal interview with Professor Ron Scott, IIHM’s Scotland-based International Director.

Speaking on her achievement, she said, “Being selected for the Scot Malt Tour has been a dream since my first year. The support from my mentors has been invaluable, and this opportunity will shape my journey in the beverage industry.”
Academic Excellence and Global Exposure
As a BSc Honours student affiliated with the University of West London, Nandini has gained strong theoretical and practical expertise in food and beverage management.
She looks forward to experiencing the whisky-making process firsthand, from malting to cooperage, while exploring Scotland’s cultural heritage. With aspirations to become a sommelier, Nandini views this opportunity as a milestone in her career.
About the Scot Malt Tour 2025
The Scot Malt Tour 2025, curated by Professor Ron Scott, includes visits to iconic distilleries such as Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, along with innovative venues like the Edinburgh Gin Distillery.
The program reflects IIHM’s “High Tech, Higher Touch” learning philosophy by combining heritage, innovation, and cultural storytelling to prepare future hospitality leaders.

Together, these students represent IIHM campuses across India and will gain unparalleled exposure to Scotland’s whisky heritage.
